Northinch Court

Client: Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association

Glasgow's City of Light strategy allocated money every year to local projects and one such project was Northinch Court. Northinch Court is the area surrounding the Whiteinch Centre which is an invaluable community centre, cafe and home to Whitench and Scotstoun Housing Association who were the client for this project.

Lightfolio were engaged to produce lighting designs that would invigorate the public realm and better define the location of the Whiteinch Centre.

The scheme has a number of elements including colour change and sequenced LED lighting, solar marker lighting, illumination of trees, light projection and colour changing lightboxes above the community workshops.

All of these elements combine to create a livelier public space that feels safe and inviting. Lightfolio also worked with Glasgow City Council to have the street lighting changed from traditional high pressure sodium sources to white light sources that offered a far superior quality of illumination and colour rendition.
