St Patrick's Church Location: Coatbridge Client: North Lanarkshire Council
St Patrick's Church sits at the very heart of Main Street in Coatbridge and is a dominant visible feature in the reconfigured public realm.
The reconfiguring of the streetscape created a more inclusive setting for the church buildings but the existing external lighting had been badly vandalised due to its accessibility and new solutions for lighting had to be found if this wasn't to happen again.
Lightfolio produced a new design which included the wonderfully modern 'Torxa' lanterns from Holophane which sit in perfect juxtaposition to the original fabric of the building.
White light sources with high colour rendering were selected for all other luminaires to illuminate facades and planting arrangements, which in part help deter antisocial behaviour through improved levels and quality of illumination.
