The 'Big Heid's'

Inspiration for this scheme came from the cover of a magazine lying on a table in the studio.

The rising sun effect shown in the picture seemed appropriate for The 'Big Heids' as they are all about looking to the future and North Lanarkshire was at the time embarking on a journey that has seen radical transformations in many locations within the area.

Lighting trials using different dichroic glass filters over ceramic metal halide floods produced the desired effect ensuring that this wonderful sculptural piece remained prominent after dark.

This project was one of three that were selected as pilot projects and were undertaken in tandem with the production of a lighting strategy for the whole North Lanarkshire area, also undertaken by Lightfolio.
